Privacy Policy for HSK One MM

This policy explains what information Gorgeous Cyber ("we", "us") handles when you use HSK One MM ("the app"), how we use it, and what choices you have. Gorgeous Cyber built HSK One MM, a Chinese–Burmese dictionary for learners of HSK 1 vocabulary, as a free app. It is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is. The short version

• There are no accounts. You never give us your name, email address or phone number.
• Your favorites and the downloaded dictionary stay on your device.
• The app talks to our server only to download and update the dictionary and to fetch pronunciation audio.
• The app shows ads from Google AdMob. Google collects some device information to show and measure those ads (details below).
• We do not sell your personal information.

Information on your device

The app stores the dictionary it downloads (words, meanings, example sentences and links to audio) and your favorites (the words you have tapped the heart on, and when) in a database inside the app on your phone. This information is not sent to us. It is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage in Android settings.

Information our server receives

When the app downloads or checks for dictionary updates, or plays a word's audio, your phone sends a normal internet request to our server. Like any server, ours can see the technical details that come with such a request: your IP address, the date and time, the address of the file requested and basic details about your device and app version. We use this only to deliver the dictionary and audio, to keep the service secure and to fix problems. It is not linked to a name or account, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling. Server logs are kept for a limited time and then deleted.

Ads and Google AdMob

The app is free and supported by advertising. It uses Google AdMob, which shows banner ads. To show, measure and secure those ads, the AdMob software in the app and Google may collect and use information such as your advertising ID, IP address, device and operating-system details, and how you interact with ads. We do not receive your advertising ID or the data Google collects, and we do not control how Google uses it. Google's use of this information is described in Google's own policies:

Your choices about ads

• If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google shows a consent form the first time ads load, and ads are only requested as that choice allows.
• On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of personalized ads in Settings → Google → Ads (the path can differ between devices).
• You can stop all ads from this app by uninstalling it.

What we do not collect

The app does not ask for or collect your precise or approximate location, contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera data, or any account or payment information. The app does not use any permission that shows a pop-up asking for your approval. It uses internet and network-status access (to download the dictionary, play audio and show ads), vibration for touch feedback, and the Android advertising-ID permission so the ad software can work as described above. The app contains no analytics or crash-reporting tools of our own.

Children

HSK One MM is meant for general learners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at the address above and we will help.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information. Information is handled by Google as described under Ads and Google AdMob, and by the companies that host our servers on our behalf, which process requests only so that the service works. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

Security

The app connects to our server over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we handle.

International processing

Google and our hosting providers may process information in countries other than the one you live in.

Your rights

Because the app has no accounts, the information we hold about you is limited to technical server logs that are not linked to a name. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it. Contact us at the address above and we will respond as the law requires. You can delete everything the app stores on your device by clearing its data or uninstalling it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
